Note from the artist on this work: 'This is one of my favorite coming-of-age films! I love stories about going to new places, meeting new friends and rising to new challenges. It's rumored that the setting for this film was inspired by Visby, Sweden. I researched Visby's architecture and incorporated those lovely terra cotta roof tiles into my own design. I decided to work in the Japanese Shin-hanga style, which is known for its realism and complex color schemes. I think the final design came out pretty well! The caption reads おとどけものいたします、キキ, which loosely translates to, "Open for delivery, Kiki".'
